Google Mobile Friendly Test Tool

Last year, Google announced the launch of a mobile-friendly test tool which you can use to check if your website passes Google’s criteria for what it consider to be a mobile optimized site.



The tool will analyze a URL and report if the page has a mobile-friendly design.

If your site doesn’t pass the test, the tool will point out exactly why you didn’t pass and give you some steps to follow to correct the issues.

If your site passes the test, your site will get a mobile-friendly label in the Google mobile search results.

Change Image Size Online Without Software

Imageresize.org is a picture resizing website I use alot and I've decided to share it with you today. The site simply lets anyone crop, resize image online for FREE i.e you can crop a photo and decrease or increase image size online. 





Whenever an advertiser sends me an advert banner that is bigger than the required size, I use the site to make the image smaller. The site can be helpful too whenever you want to make picture smaller size before uploading it to Facebook, Twitter etc.

How To Resize Image Online

==> Go to : http://www.imageresize.org

==> If the image you want to resize is on your computer, click on "browse" to select it and Click "upload" when you are done.
==> If the image is somewhere on the web, click the "From Web" tab, enter the URL of the image and click "Fetch"

Once the image is loaded onto the dashboard, you will see the options to crop or resize the image. Now, let's assume you want to resize the image to 300x250.

==> From the "Change Resize Image To" dropdown box, select "Custom Size"
==> Untick "Preserve Aspect ratio"
==> Change the width to 300 pixels
==> Change the height to 250 pixels
==> Select your desired image format
==> Click "Process Image"

You will be redirected to a page displaying your resized image.

Right-click on the image and select Save image as to save or use the Fb share button to share it on Facebook.

Permanent Voters Card ( PVC ) Pickup Location Finder

According to INEC, the PVC ( Permanent Voters Card) is smart card based voters’ identity with voter’s information such as bio-data, biometric and facial image. The card technology provides adequate security features to reduce vulnerability to counterfeiting and shall be used for identification and authentication of voters during elections in Nigeria.





The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is currently doing everything possible to ensure that every validly registered voter get his / her Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to be able to exercise their franchise in the 2015 General Election. To make it easier for voters to get their PVC, INEC has decentralized PVC pickups. Hence, you can now pickup your PVC at your ward.

You can also find online, where you can pickup your PVC at http://govote.ng/pickup/



Right there, all you need to do is to enter the code (PU number) on your Temporary Voters Card.



I picked up mine today, although not at the location indicated on the site. The location displayed on the site was where I registered initially though.

Merge Two Photos Into One Online Using PhotoJoiner

Yesterday, I stumbled on a website, photojoiner.net and I've decided to share it with you. At the site, you can merge two photos into one. You can merge multiple photos, change the order of the photos and you can also share the joined photo directly to Facebook from the site. You can set if the photos to appear side by side, vertical or in horizontal style. You can as well, set the margin between images.





As at the time of publishing this post, you won't see the site name on the joined photo and the site is totally FREE to use. Below is a sample of two photos merged into one using photojoiner.

IPaddress.com: Online IP Address and Location Country Checker

Today, I've decided to share with you, a website I use to check my IP address, be it on PC, my iPad, my Android phone or on my Blackberry 10 smartphone. The site is simply an IP address checker and IP location checker.





Apart from showing me what my IP address is, it also displays my IP location country, ISP, operating system, browser information etc whenever I use it. It also detects if am using a proxy or not.

How To Check Your IP Address and Location

==> Once the page loads, scroll down to see your IP location country, IP address etc

Disavow Backlinks Google Webmaster Tool

Earlier today, I decided to ask Google not to take certain back links into account when assessing my blog. Unfortunately, I couldn't navigate to the Disavow Backlinks Google Webmaster Tool from my Webmaster's account. It was after I googled it, that I saw the link to the tool. I've successful used it to disavow 59 domains and I hope this will have positive impact on my blog ranking in the long run.





The tool simply allows you to upload a text file containing list of links that you think are spammy, artificial, or of low-quality and should not be considered when Google is rating the quality of your site.



Let's say you want to disavow all links from example.com, all you need to do is to create a text file with Notepad and enter the domain you want to disavow using the format below:

domain: example.com

If you want to disavow multiple links, then you add them one per line.



If you only want to disavow a URL from a site instead of all links from the domain, use:

http://spam.example.com/stuff/comments.html

If you’ve built bad links to your site via paid backlinks services or other link schemes that violate Google quality guidelines, I recommend you use this tool.



Be careful though because it is an advanced feature and should only be used with caution. If used incorrectly, it can potentially harm your site’s performance in Google’s search results. Use it only if you are confident that the links are causing issues for you.

How To Use Disavow Tool

==> Sign in to your Google account

==> Go to : https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/disavow-links-main

==> Select your site from the drop-down box

==> Click "Disavow links" button.



You will be redirected to a page where you will upload the text file.



Click "Choose File'. Upload and Click "Submit".



That's all.



Google will mail you once the submission is updated.



NOTE: It may take some time for Google to process the information you’ve uploaded. The links will continue to be shown in the Webmaster Tools inbound links section.

How Do I View Backlinks to My Blog?

==> Sign in to Google Webmasters

==> On the Dashboard, click Search Traffic, and then click Links to Your Site

==> Under Who links the most, click More.



You can download the links via the tabs on the page or browse through the top 1000 backlinks.

Write Text On Pictures Online Free At These Sites

There are sites that allow you to add words to pictures online for free. Hence, you don't have to worry yourself installing Adobe photoshop or any other photo editing software before you can add text directly on your photos.





Let's say you want to add your blog link to a photo you want to use in a blog post or you just want to create a meme, then you need to try the sites I'm sharing with you below. The sites simply lets you add captions to your photos.

1. PicFont

At www.picfont.com, you can upload a picture from a computer, mobile device or URL, and add text directly on it. You can make a poster (meme for example) with the uploaded picture, then insert text or draw on the picture.



The site also allows you to create a picture ( ad banner for example), just by choosing width and height (in pixels) and a background colour, then you will be able to add text. Once you are done, you can save your creative to your PC or mobile device.



As at the time of publishing this, Picfont.com will not add watermark to edited pictures you save from the site.

2. AddText

At www.addtext.com, you can also write words directly on photos you upload to the site but a watermark will be added to the photo after downloading it from the site. If you want to remove the watermark, you will have to pay.



Whenever I use the site to add texts on my photos, I use my WIndows PC snipping tool to snip out the watermark :)



The site works well on smartphones as well as on computer.

Generate APK Files Online Without Chrome APK Downloader Plugin

While browsing through the pages of my favourite blogs this morning, I stumbled on an online APK downloader and I decided to share it with you. It is simply a web app that lets you pull an APK directly from Google's servers and side load it yourself.



It lets you download apk files from Google play store to PC without
worrying about country restriction and without logging in to your Google
account. The app requires you to enter the package name or Google Play URL for the app you want and after that, it will generate a download link for the apk file of the app.



Mind you, the site only works for apps that are available for free at the Google Play store. You are not allowed to download paid apps.

Colorpicker.com: Get Color Codes Online

When you are working with colors while editing your website/blog HTML/CSS for colour matching combinations, you might need to enter the hex code of the color you want to use instead of just the color name.
